It's a real shame they couldn't at least have modelled the results of another u-boat(s) attack on the convoy if not the actual u-boat. You know, you sight a convoy with a damaged ship or two, maybe missing a escort or two? Maybe it wouldn't have affected gameplay in the end, but it would be great for immersion.

I love passing AI u-boats at sea when I'm existing or entering base. Hard not to wave and yell, "THOMSEN!!!"
I have come across convoys with damaged ships a number of times but I always assume that they've been the target of an air attack. I did watch a very interesting air attack in the Med once. 3 Ju-87s & 3 Ju-88s turned up and pounced on a small 4 ship convoy that I had just attacked. They pounded the crap out of the AA escort; leaving it burning & listing heavily. I considered attacking it but the undamaged escort was now very p*ssed off and actively searching for us. I figured that it was better to take what I had (1 large merchant) & get the hell away from there.
