This kind of generalization only makes liberals defensive, and therefore more difficult to persuade, imo.
However, a little dialogue and constructive criticism couldn't hurt, right?

Agreed, but as it has been demonstrated time and time again, hard liners on both sides tend to be beyond reason.

Anyhow, contructive criticism is good, however, destructive criticism, like this, only makes things worse.

What proves the point on many of these is that one can use this forum as a petri dish. In one discussion I made some arguments regarding "certain" homosexual practices. I kept religion out of it and referenced the appropriate medical sources only to be labled a bigot or homophobic by the "liberals" who roost here. You can pick almost any of the points Subman listed and the ensuing arguments will prove his point.
