Be more agressive!
Where did you find these, Luke? Did you scan and upload, or can you view patrol logs on line?

One of the problems with most reports is the lack of crew lists for the patrols. When trying to build a historical picture of a typical crew for each boat, the more information the better. I wish more reports went into detail like the Archerfish captains did. It is a chore slogging through the available reports to find the ones that have crew lists. I like reading how the captain conducted operations, the ship and air contacts made, which i do for fun, but when you are looking for something else it is not fun.
Fluckey should have just wrote,"Sighted train, sank same." |

A little off topic, but this is as cool as when I found the war diaries of my Grandfather's unit in the 1st big war. http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/02/020152_e.html page of said war diaries; 3rd page of the report on the attack on Vimy Ridge. ![]()

The USS BARBARINNA is at sea, and here are her logo, emblem, and the captain's new girlfriend (Lucky me!).
Logo: Drawing of woman and Japanese soldiers made by an artist in the 1940s (hair color modified by Gunfighter) combined with a torpedo designed by the Gunfighter. Periscope effect added by I'm Goin' Down using tools from Photobucket. Emblem: Compliments of Digitial_Trucker Girlfriend: Drawing made by an artist in the 1940s. Here is a Photo from the Demolition Crew of USS Barb:
![]() Original Text: USS Barb (SS-220) Members of the submarine's demolition squad pose with her battle flag at the conclusion of her 12th war patrol. Taken at Pearl Harbor, August 1945. During the night of 22-23 July 1945 these men went ashore at Karafuto, Japan, and planted an explosive charge that subsequently wrecked a train. They are (from left to right): Chief Gunners Mate Paul G. Saunders, USN; Electricians Mate 3rd Class Billy R. Hatfield, USNR; Signalman 2nd Class Francis N. Sever, USNR; Ships Cook 1st Class Lawrence W. Newland, USN; Torpedomans Mate 3rd Class Edward W. Klingesmith, USNR; Motor Machinists Mate 2nd Class James E. Richard, USN; Motor Machinists Mate 1st Class John Markuson, USN; and Lieutenant William M. Walker, USNR. This raid is represented by the train symbol in the middle bottom of the battle flag.
