Tough cookies, them Tommies..

Anyways, I disengaged after I hit 2 more times with torpedoes and rammed it aft of it's conning tower and tried to push it under the water, which didn't work either...

Stayed around for around 1 hour overall (incl TC while torp reload).

Nope.. no message, but some debris floating around the sub.

EDIT: Oh and it's on GWX 3 and SH Commander.

I've never had any problems sinking submarines in single player missions. :hmm: Maybe they were smuggling ping pong balls?

Perhaps it's like an Ice carrier, only a submarine. Us Canadians are pretty crafty...

Hehe... are you reffering to this crazy project...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Habakkuk

Though it was a british guy that thought it up, which makes sense, you would have to be a little eccentric to come up with something like this. But it was going to be built in canada, we had plenty of pulp.

I sunk a UK sub once, it took a long time to sink but I only had to use one torp...

Weird.

I got into a gunfight with an S-boat once near Brest & it took me a hell of long time to sink it. I ran through over 100 rounds of my 8.8cm ammunition as I was trying to stay at a relatively "safe" distance; out of easy range of her guns. I wasn't about waste a torpedo on such a puny target & I just couldn't hit her guns. The S-boat finally did succumb after about 20-25 minutes (real time). Whenever I encounter them now I avoid engaging them as the risk outweighs any possible reward. They're like MTB's in that you want to swat them but could wind up getting badly stung in the process.
