Battle for Mederet
6/6/1944 Maj. Gen. Ridgway Commander of the I/507th RCT/82nd Airborne division  After a succesfull dropping we quikly found out that we landed just North East of Mederet, near the road to Montebourg. Best part about the dropping we caught them Germans by suprise  After receiving Mortar fire we discovered German troops right in the open  With a quik striking platoon we rushed to the south to take control of the road that goes to St. Mere-Eglise, secure the near located farm houses and take over the East Bridge.  German Troops guarding the Farm area received a warm welcome from our boys  Bazooka succesfully taken out a Sturmgeschütz  Securing the Eastern Bridge  Storming towards Le Motey Crossroads  Heavy resistence at Le Motey crossroads, Airstrike has been called in with Devastating results  A field day for the Airborne Division!
