Please do. I'm very interested in skinning (I've done it in other games), but unsure of the best processes for skinning subs in Sh3. Tips for doing weathering effects and rust would be good too.

Maybe Fubar out there would jump in with some weathering advice...Fubar, Fubar, where art thou, Fubar?

I'm getting to that in this lesson just as soon as I finish the basic look of this u-boat

You could use my templates to help your tutorial. Their already available.

I've notice many new skins have some base components of my templates.

Unless your trying from scratch...:hmm:

I'm actually using my templates for this - I've got it all setup so that the waterholes and just about everything else is set up in its own specific layer. That way when I'm done with one I can move on to the other At the end of the tutorial I'll upload some template PSD's for people to play around with.

A few hours later and I'm getting into the nitty-gritty of it all and I would highly recommend this thread to anyone trying to learn how to skin a sub cause a lot of my cheat sheets and shortcuts are being disclosed After this lesson is done I think I'll do others as well that will cover more ways to make your own camo patterns using Adobe CS!

I actually just made a whole new board for these lessons too so other sub skinners are welcome to jump in and share their techniques as well!

Ok this is about 95% complete, most of the basic instructions are in that thread and I'll start making mini-lessons to help go more in-depth into skinning. There's a link in my sig for all your sub skinning needs, it's a constant work in progress but my hope for this is that by showing my techniques off, more people will want to learn how to design their own skins and contribute some to the community. I'll keep adding on to these lessons as I go along, but if anyone has a request for a specific design method then please let me know in those boards so I can keep everything organized

Fantastic Offer. I wish I had the brain cells to take advantage
of it. I am one of the oldest in the forum and finding that
my concentration is not what it used to be. I will stick with
admiring our modders and working on silent hunter addict.

BTW: You guys make this a great forum.

I haven't acquainted myself with the IX series u-boats so when I do I'll start posting them.
