Mate, i genuinely don't see it as a bad thing. If anyone gives you a hard time about it, stuff em.
Much better to have limited hearing than to be blind or dumb. Don't let it stop you doing anything. |

Your hearing aids don't look bad at all. Heck, be glad you have youth, like Firewall said. And you still have your hair!

I'm supposed to wear hearing aids but don't like wearing them. My family gets pretty irritated with me sometimes. Mine are inner ear models though. Can you use that type?
I think people really won't care about your aids. Look at how many wear those cell phone thingies. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Bad luck with the hearing there fella; it must be hard and not a little frustrating at times.
![]() As to what anyone else says, if they haven't got anything nice to say, then send them packing! I had a great uncle who used a hearing aid. When he wasn't interested, or was bored with conversation, he'd just switch off the prattle and nod and smile in a polite way and then just wander off. Obviously he was a little eccentric, but it was useful to him to be able to mute the world when he chose. It was a kind of thing he used to do as a family in-joke at social events and the like ![]() He certainly never let his deafness stand in the way of anything he wanted to do. I say go with the technology - I'd bet money on the fact that artificial enhancement of sight, hearing and prosthetics will attain a level beyond that which the rest of us are naturally capable of, given enough time. A young'un like yourself is likely to see some great developments in the coming years ![]()
