Air units with Joystick...bad control?

I tried to fly around with the P3 and the Helicopter using my joystick and rudder pedals, and it works awfully

The hardware is properly calibrated, I'm positive on this since I use it with IL2 Sturmovik with no problems, but the control in DW is simply horrfying: Imprecise, slow, unresponsive. I know that the P3 is not a WW2 fighter, but I have flown similar planes in MS Flight Simulator demo and the response was much better.

Anyone else has experienced this? Any tricks/fixes to improve the control via joystick?
