It is these little surprizes that make me go over all mods with a fine tooth comb before I install.

I just love those unintended consequences that can pop up seemingly from out of nowhere. Sometimes I think many of the "I have a weird thing happening" threads we read can be attributed to mods with unrelated inclusions.

This is supposed to be an environmental mod, not a sonar sensitivity mod.
I don't mean to offend but a mod that screws with sonar settings should be in a mod clearly labeled "sonar sensitivity mod" and not in one that improves the environmental scenery. There are others. One I recall was a mod to correctly adjust mast heights to improve manual targeting and it included with barely a mention, changes to the medals and awards too, which conflicted with another mod.

Just my 2 cents .

If you don't like it ,you can delete Sh4/Data/Cfg/Sim.cfg and Sh4/Data/Library/AI_Sensors.dat from EE5.0.
