Default Last Mission, Last Thread, Last Time Playing SH3

Well, it's gotten to that time. SH3 was supposed to be a quick and simple little diversion that I finally picked up last spring. I like sub sims, but I'm not an addict. However, this game (especially with GWX) surprised me and has kept me playing since March. Since then, it's eaten up a LOT of my free time. In WinXP, it's my top icon (meaning most time). But the time has come for me to put it aside. Briefly, it has become somewhat repetitive, and is only challenging if I impose crippling limits on myself.

I'll post the full details in my 100K thread, but in a nutshell, I just returned to port on Dec 31, 1944 with a 63K ton patrol. My goal was to break 2,000,000 tons in my career, and I'm at 1,999,955 tons!! Ironically, I let a coastal tanker go by unmolested on Christmas Day, 1944. But having gotten back to base, I have time for at least one more big mission. What's more, I have 4,000 renown and 6 homing torps. So I can buy at least 4 more homing torps- maybe more - for a total of 10+ homing torps!

This means I can go out with a real BANG!!! I plan on taking on either a large convoy or a large escort group. One thing I haven't done in my career is sunk a battleship or carrier, so the latter is a real possibility. Given the end of the war in March, I MIGHT have time for two quick missions.

SO, I AM LOOKING FOR SUGGESTIONS (AROUND UK) FOR GOING OUT WITH A BANG. Heck, I'm even thinking of raiding Scapa again! Let's make this last one memorable, eh?

In the meantime, I want to thank everyone for all of your hints, tips, and general encouragement. This is a great community. From Jimbuna's first welcoming advice to the last post to my 100K thread, I've really enjoyed it. I would love to stay and post, and might come back some time, but I really have too many other things on my spare-time to-do-list to keep giving this side-hobby more time. I generally hate dramatic good-bye posts, but I just wanted to let all the regulars here now that I really appreciated their contributions. And of course, a HUGE thanks to the forum host!

So, with that said, it's time to get out there at least one more time and BE AGGRESSIVE!!!
