As they point out in the article, it's an older hack, but with a new twist due to the availability of another "digital port" into the system.

And the problem will only get worse I fear. The more dependent on the Internet and networks in general for "day to day" business and transactions, the more risks we take. There is hardly an area I can think of in the digital world that hasn't been compromised somehow...
