Question on Manual Targeting

I have always used the same procedure when manual targetting. Identify target, tick box, measure distance, AOB, enter data into TDC and update, fire.

If I skip doing the tick box and follow the rest, the torpedo should follow the same track with the same result.

The reason I have ask this is to do away with the manual and use my own instead for data input.
