I'm wondering what the hell they were doing so close to the live-fire range.
It's a perfect example of "Doing STUPID in the NO STUPID ZONE". 5 klicks is the blink of an eye to a fast moving jet.... Reminds me of how a similar accident ocurred with another pilot accidentally strafing a school someplace on the East Coast (thankfully it was empty).
