I must be the luckiest player alive. No matter what I do, I cannot replicate the "lost" repair officer problem that so many here have complained about. And I've spent the last three hours trying!
Without replicating it, I can't fix it. I have verified that immediately after docking, the repair officer is written to CREW_NUMBER_11 with a NrComp of 11. If the player then either a) exits the career, or b) re-opens the crew screen, the repair officer is moved from the #11 slot to the earliest free slot. No probs understanding this concept. But here's the problem. For me, he's always moved correctly; that is, he always ends up in a "visible" spot the next time I load SH3. But obviously this isn't always the case - there must be some event that interferes and causes the officer to go wayward. I have some theories, but without seeing the problem "live", I can't test them. So, can I ask that if you experience this problem that you pls post the contents of your latest Crew_Career_x0.cfg file (just up to and including [CREW_MEMBER_12] will do) with a brief explanation of where all your officers were just prior to docking, the boat type you are in, and anything else that may help. With this info I can build a fix into SH3Cmdr - which happily recognises the crewman - to reposition the wayward sailor in a visible slot. |
