HI folks,
Just curious - usually when I skink something, the red wreck image appears on the nav map. I've noticed on some occsations this does not always happen. last night I was in Lock Ewe in foul weather and sank HMS Prince of Wales (35000 tons ![]() My WO anounced they were sinking ( and I confirmed this via scope), but no red wreck image appeared on the map. I did get credit for the sinkings, so does shallow water play a part as to whether the game engine recognises a wreck in the nav map? Also, on another patrol, I was west of Ireland, also in foul weather and heavy fog when I engaged a convoy - one torp hit a merchant which sank 10 minutes later, but the GREY wreck icon appeared on the nav map, aid I didn't get credit for the sinking. The merchant was slipping in and out of visibility (due to fog) between me firing the torp and the target sinking. Is there a lesson to be learned here? Do I need to keep within visual or a particular distance to earn credit for a sinking? Thanks for any insights. By the way, thanks to all who made GWX 2.0 possible, the last few weeks has seen me test how much sleep deprivation I can tolerate (late night patrols, you know)! ![]() Thaum |
