Question about setting a patrol gris in SH Commander

I was forced to dock in a German base (Not my main one) for repairs. When I came out of the mission, I rolled back SH Commander and went to bed.

When I started the game up, I put in my assigned patrol grid from my failed mission last night so I could continue the mission. When I load the game however, the game keeps setting my patrol grid as "Nul".

What's the correct procedure to get this to work ? Should I not roll back SHIII and just exit the game, change the patrol grid and then go back into the game without rolling it back ?
