It's July '40, my boat has just came back from a patrol. I was happy to learn, that after liberation of France there were new bases on the French shore. I got even a personal (or maybe boatonal) invitation from BdU to report in Lorient instead of Wilhemshaven (an in-game message from BdU with my U-Boot number in the "To:" section). So I went to Lorient, to learn that I am "in other base", not in my own. I can't give medals and promotions, buy upgrades and so on (will the medals be lost?).
So I checked the dates. SH3 Commander says in the 2nd Flotilla information, that "from June 1940 the flotilla moved to Lorient", but below the story there is "Bases" section (probably extracted from the game files?) that states: 09-39 to 08-40 - Wilhelmshaven 09-40 to 08-44 - Lorient Another strange game behaviour related to Lorient base was the invitation and further info. In June and July I got three (maybe more) radio messages informing that some "new U-Boot bases are available" (IIRC: Bordeaux, Bergen, Lorient). The Lorient message however was sent a week or more AFTER I got a radio order to report in Lorient instead of Wilhelmshaven. I suppose the sequence should be inverse. Now my boat is resting in Lorient as "other base" and I'm a bit lost. What could I do not to lose the promotions, medals, ability to set torpedoes and so on? :/ Any tips? ![]() If anybody's been caught in the Lorient trap, I invite him for a beer or two in the local pub. We will stay there as long as Doenitz needs to clean up the mess on his deck. ![]()
