Default A suggestion

After browsing a lot of the posts in here, particularly the posts with released mods I'd like to make a suggestion to the managers/moderators of subsim.
It seems that a lot of people (including yours truly) are scanning through post after post to try and find the latest version/patch to a mod.
Can I suggest that "finished/updated" mods be placed in their own 'forum' with a d/l link and with the addendum "updated as of (date)" and a directive that NOONE post messages at that particular spot except to update the mod version. Is it possible to have a thread which displays a link but is "locked out" to additional postings by regular members?
This would avoid the plethora (aka: hockey-sock-full) of posts which only end up obscuring the original intent and leaves members searching/wondering (that'd be me too) where the most up to date version of a mod is.
This would also avoid the constant posting query's of "where can I find the latest version of X mod?" etc which, again, only clutter up the website and no doubt irritate the modders.
This would also free up the actual Mods Workshop main forum for WIPs etc and general queries. A modder could simply post "TM version x.x.x has been updated" and everyone would know they could go to the finished mod forum and d/l.
I'm not sure if I explained my logic correctly and haven't been a subsim member that long, so perhaps this has already been tried. If so, excuse my naivete.
