SH3 not loading

the progess bar would advance to the end and it them crashes with an error report. prior to this i had enabled a couple mods, das realistic food authentic u-boat off faces, and then installing SH3cmdr when it would still crash and requiring a roolback which didn't help. uninstalled that and tried a restore point that went back a week but there were no system changes to use a restore

any ideas? thx. jsgme had been updated as well but then replaced with the previous version.

edit: also crashes with no mods enabled

edit: won't even load a single mission or new career
