Snatched this screen grab of a type VIIC attacking a merchant on the surface.
We (U-48) have been hunting this convoy off Morrocco for two days and nights now, in horrible weather. Have bagged a whale factory ship (12K+ tons), 2 large cargo's (10K+ tons each) and hit a large passenger/cargo. With only 1 eel left, I am diving and will head for Cadiz to re-arm from the Thalia (it's Sept. 1940). So I'm watching the sights with the external camera, and I see a type VIIC in the midst of the convoy - presumably the same one I posted here about the other day. This time, he does something - he attacks a passing cargo ship with both flak and deck gun, AND he blows it up and sinks it! I could not even man my guns in this weather, but the AI is clearly not hindered that way. I grabbed the screen shot below just a second too late to catch the muzzle flash from his deck gun, but you can see where the round has hit just aft of the center deck house. He doesn't seem to chase any contacts down, he just reacted when this ship passed close by. It made for a very interesting encounter, I must say. ![]()
