I was playing the practice mission that comes with WernerSobe's excellent Natural Sinking Mechanics mod when I thought about being able to use the crew from my current career to help them gain some experience. Being a bit of a realism junkie, I quickly dismissed the idea because the thought of teleporting my crew from off the coast of Honshu for a bit of training off the US West coast wasn't really an option.
Anyway, I then thought that maybe the excellent mission builders and modders here on Subsim might be able to help out. My thought was that when you get a new boat and crew it would be good to have the option to allow the first mission of the career to be a shakedown cruise. You could choose your crew as normal at career start but then sail a short 'mission' from a West Coast Port, practice a few intercepts and then sink a few old hulks before returning to port. You then arrive at PH with your crew having a little more experience to begin their first war patrol. Is this even feasible? Cheers all, WB. |
