Last night I set up a daylight submerged attack on a large merchant in extremely heavy seas (the kind where you bridge team is underwater with every wave). All I had left were some old steam-driven torpedoes, which I fired at approx 2kyds (due to escorts). Before these eels were even half-way there, the merchant (who had been steaming on a steady course for almost an hour of game time) suddenly changed course, the escorts turned towards me, and my "stealth meter" turned red.
From 16yrs of experience sailing through all sorts of weather, any wake/bubbles from the torpedoes would have been broken up by the heavy chop and would not have been visible. Does anyone know of a way to adjust/modify the AI's ability to visually observe torpedoes, and if it's changeable based on seas? |
