Reaching the patrol area

G'day,

SH4 recognizes when you reach your assigned patrol area with a message and the yellow star turns gray.

I'm finding this is only happening if I leave port and go directly to the assigned area and engage no enemy ships on the way. If enemy shipping is engaged on the route to the patrol area, when I finally reach my assigned patrol area I get no message acknowledging I've arrived and the yellow star remain yellow.

Is this a bug in the program or is this the way SH4 is designed to work?
