Angle of Bow

Each time I think I understand what AOB is and how to do it I keep screwing up..... and banging, and banging!!!

What I have been doing is:

1. Identify the enemy ship
2. Use the stadimeter to determine the range
3. and then hope I do it right for the AOB.
4. determine the speed.
5. Turn on the PK.

When I do the AOB I am basing it from the enemy ship to where my sub is. Basically if the enemy captain looked out his window then he would see my periscope then that is my position. But what I estimate for the AOB is and the computer estimates is different. For example the 3rd training exercise where you sink the Mogami I determine a AOB basically in the 11 o'clock position.

I have no clue what the 0-18 means for both starboard and port. I wish it would simply state 90 deg, 180 deg, 360 deg... etc.

If I go to the attack map I see the white X with the line and I try to line it up but I don't know if it is because of just the AOB or if it is speed also.

Please for the love of God PLEASE help another submate out! I would really like to understand this so that I can sink enemy ships out of pure confidence and not out of dumb luck.

Thank you!
