gwx: visability & weather questions.

i just switched over from gw 1.1 (was finishing a long career).

anyway, i thought i read in the manual that the visabilty for clear weather was 16k.

well, i'm on patrol now with currently no precip. & no fog with light wind and the farthest i can spot a shop is about 8400 for the smoke & 8000 to actually see the ship.

i'm not talking about my lookouts, i'm talking about me...on the bridge.

what gives?

also should i be using the random weather mod like i did with gw 1.1?
