Hint: a US journalist some time ago on German TV described the situation in the non-officer ranks as "America's mercenary army".... It's a mean way to get citizenship in the US. And the US makes maximum use of this bad habit. Vietnam had more aliens in the US army then WWII. Iraq has more aliens in the US army than Vietnam. Compare: WWII had more WASP-Americans in the army than Vietnam. Vietnam had more WASP-Americans in the army than Iraq.
