I've been thinking recently on origins of 'kaleun' nick, it is most obvious that it is a shorthand for Kapitaen-Leutenant. But then I wondered what were the shorthands for Frigattenkapitaen and Korvettenkapitaen, would it not be disrepectful to call a Frigattenkapitaen - kaleun? Any clues?
