Default Being Polite

Basic politeness 101:

When you receive a private message, you return it even if to only reply an "Ok...".

Some people in my family have this terrible habit. I send them books and other stuff and they only thank me or send me any sign at all when we meet personally weeks or months later.

This is annoying. If you don't like the PM, reply a "No, thanks", if you don't bother reading it send back an "Not in the mood to read this, sorry". And if you approve anything or have a positive comment, do reply whatever!

Otherwise, I'm kept at the dark here. Did I say something wrong? Did I send an insult or an offense? Am I uninteresting, boring? Was the message too long? Should I continue to send stuff or stop for good?

It feels like calling some ultra-busy customer support. You just sit there waiting and waiting, whistling or blowing air on the phone, asking if there's anyone there, tired of the quick-to-get-old on-hold music.

Please, do send any kind of reply to Private Messages. Anything at all will do, send just a smiley if that's the case, let the smiley do the talking: or :p or or or or or or .

Otherwise I'll have to bribe Gizzmoe to discover why only 3 out of every 5 PMs I send are returned. Am I on so many people's ignore list Gizz?
