Either way he's screwed to begin with.
Even if he did do this quietly, nobody would ever know about it, therefore nothing would be fixed. Now that everbody DOES know about it, it WILL be fixed. Even at his expense, and he declared that from the beginning that he was ready to take the consequences. He knew what he was doing and did it anyway. The courts be damned. Since when did the courts care about truth and justice anyway?
