NYGM Question

Goodaye,

In the NYGM manual there is the following section...

The visual sensors ...... The escorts may possibly detect you at the following ranges in the
following conditions:
For BOW ON and clear day with:
0 mps you will get detected at around 4500
10 mps you will get detected at around 3300
For BOW ON and a clear night with:
0 mps you will get detected at around 1200
10 mps you will NOT get detected

Can anyone tell my ignorant self what 'mps' refers to as I'm sure it's got nothing to do with Mickey's P... Size.
