UBoat Dynamic?

Just started playing UBoat after I built a new PC this weekend, my question is this:
1. After selecting and finishing a mission in UBoat like Black Gap and completing that mission does the game go into a Dynamic mode where ships get generated or is the game more canned, mission over, go home?

2. If you dont select a mission to play is the game Dynamic at that point or can you even play the game like that?
