Very good actor, as Commander Wallace said a trailblazer, a staunch fighter against racism not only in films, ambassador, knighted by the Queen in 1974.
"In the heat of the night" was a masterpiece, while i also liked a lot of his other films this one, "The defiant ones" and "Shoot to kill" are my favourites. Rest in peace Mr Poitier.
