Well I have been reading like most of you may well have been too that the Russian Navy only "aircraft carrier" is to be scrapped.
The reason behind it allegedly is the PD50 will take a long time to salvage if it can be at all, the PD50 is the only place this vessel can be housed for refits and upgrades. Although as you guys remember i went to see Igor Kurdin last year they are in the process of building a new facility in the North this wont be ready until the early to mid 2020's so what would be the point of leaving the "carrier" hanging around? I have always advocated the scrapping of Kuznetsov as well as the Slava and Kirov classes and channeling the money into a decent DDG program, they should focus on carriers later on but right now i dont think it is wise, they should cut their loss and scrap her. https://defence-blog.com/news/russia...R5t9b6JaXRRTBI
