Hi Spraki, the first patrol in OHII campaign is scripted to give everyone a cinematic opening experience. Everything after that is completely random. You will be given patrol areas as objectives and have to patrol within a certain radius for a given number of hours, however you are not tied to those and are free to roam the seas as you wish. You will get renown and promo points for completing assigned patrols though, so it is worth doing them as well.
