1/350th scale Hobby Boss 688 model (US readers)

This is the original Hobby Boss 688 class sub in 1/350th scale and its back in stock after being unavailable for several years!

This kit allows you to build all three flights but its a must-have if you want to build a flt1 or flt2 boat.
Parts include two upper hull halfs to build a VLS boat or an earlier "slick" bow.
There are also two sail types, fairwaters or clean for bow planes. Building options also include a closed or open top of the sail.

This kit also includes a good representation of the original single-plane stern planes, just be aware this design feature didn't stick around for very long (something like less than a year) after the class was launched.

Over all, this is still the best model of the class.

Just be aware that there are a couple of issues: If you plan to build a later bow planed boat, the planes are NOT located half way up the hull, rather 20 feet above the keel. Also, the draft marker decals for the bow and rudder just aren't right. Its better to rob some decals from the old Dragon 688 kits (these are also Cartograph decals) or from the MikrOmir 637 kit.
