Default Attack map bearing tool on the nav map?

I looked into this myself about a few years ago, but I haven't played SH3 (other than a "single mission") in about a year. I got SH4 and started playing that, which I haven't played it in a month or so... been really busy.

But I tried to put the "bearing" helper tool (that appears on the attack map when you click the question mark on the map tools), on the navigation map (when you click the nav map question mark, you get the protractor).

As it is, I have to go to the attack map when the sound man reports the bearing of a ship, then make a mental note, then jump to the nav map and put an X. BUT it's not always the same zoom level and things are moving, so it is massively inaccurate.

The bearing tool on the attack map is every 30deg or so, but it would still be better than what Ive been doing.

Stock the "sound contact lines" stop AT the ship, GWX they go past, but I would like to be able to just mark a line at the bearing move on to the next bearing at the next time interval. WITHOUT switching screens.

Is there a mod out there, or does anyone know what I need to tweak to get this moved over?

If I need to clarify exactly what I mean, just let me know. I'm a bit tired and this isn't typing out as clearly as I would like it to.
