I can't get it to work

Uplay just crashes on me when I try to log in offline and reinstalling it many times hasn't changed anything. The procedure to follow on the website doesn't work for me as so just wondering if you guys have any suggestions.

Not trying to look stupid but I couldn't try the sh5.exe file trick as I can't find it so any info on that would be great.

This is want it reads when I try to log on offline as I can't log on online:

Uplay has detected an unrecoverable error and must be shutdown. Crash dump created at "C:/Program Files (x86)/Ubisoft/Ubisoft Game Launcher/crashes
