hi Captains, I hosted SH5 every weekend Fri-Sun inc for quite a few years. Using UBI server. I havent hosted for a few months now, as new games have encroached on my gameplay.
I noticed quite a few people are having problems connecting to hosts. To enable a person to host they have to open the following ports Port forwarding...... port 80 tcp/udp port 3074 tcp/udp port 3075 - 3174 udp port 19000 - 19002 tcp/udp Host also has to ensure that their network ip address is associated to those ports. (run/cmd/ipconfig) will tell you your ipv4 address 192.168.0.2 - 255. I am running with a virginmedia superhub (nat 2 router) with no problems. Router firewall set to low. Router set to reserve network ip address 192.168.0.2, to my desktop. (This stops my getting a different ip adds if my router is restarted. 1 other thing to mention is mods, Eye candy mods/voice command has no problem running, but gameplay mods, unless player/host have exactly the same mods running, will create issues. I can understand the draw of 3rd party hosting ie hamachi, tunngle etc, and now Steam. Good Luck Kaleuns.. |
