radar New Sailor (Jerrys) in town! Hah! Hah! Eh..

Hey fellas and fel-..adies...

Anyways, I'm SailorJerrys, I'm semi-new to this forum, I made an account a long time ago but forgot the details and figured I may as well use my more recent username, plus it's more fitting!

So, I played SH4 in the past a long time ago, and I had a faint understanding about how the targeting worked and such, I remember I came here for help and figured it out eventually. Since then I hadn't really been playing the game much and only recently I finally got employed and started getting some money from said job!

So now that I have money and I happened to catch a good sale on GamerGate, I managed to pick up both SH3 and SH4 Gold for REALLY cheap, and I was really happy about that, since I know A. SH4 I really enjoyed, despite being complete and utter garbage at it, and B. SH3 I've heard has a huge mod base for realism and is still moderately easy to get into.

Anyways, now that I got both games and I do have a little experience in SH4, I'm hoping to ask you guys if anyone has suggestions for my next move. Currently I have both installed completely vanilla. Again, I don't really have any experience with SubSims at all besides the little bit of SH4 that I have that isn't really that much...

Just a few notes about me, I love warfare in general, I've started playing Naval Action recently, loved playing SH4 despite being awful, WarThunder was great before they messed up the research tree to make it grindfest 2014, even strategy games like Men of War, Graviteam Tactics, flight sims (1946, RoF, DCS, Falcon4). And I LOVE dynamic campaigns, the kind that 1946, RoF and Silent Hunter has, where you go out on a random patrol, hunt ships and get the occasional extra naval order to complete. Rather than a 'story' or 'script' to follow!

Granted, pretty much every game I play in that list I'm fairly bad at and have tried many many times to get back into them but always seem to lose my steam at some point... Either because of just failure to learn, or because I run out of energy trying to climb the steep learning curves...

So, now that I've said a whole heck of a lot about what games I play, if anyone has any more general questions for me, feel free to ask! I'm a relaxed dude who is patient and loves pretty much anything Naval. I sail IRL every year at least once and love it as well as lots of other outdoor activities!

Pleasure to meet you all and I hope to see you on the seas, ideally under the same flag!

Cheers!
