Default Critically Ill Patient Saved After High-Speed Delivery by F-16

When one thinks of Jet fighter aircraft, it usually is in the context of speed, weapons load capability and maneuverability among other attributes. Others consider the shape and sheer beauty of these aircraft and what most never feel, the sheer exhilerance of flying high performance aircraft.

Most people would never think of these aircraft as a flying medical delivery truck. In fact, a Norwegian F-16 did exactly that, delivering a much needed medical ECMO machine to a critically Ill patient. The ECMO operating characteristics duplicate the functions of the heart and lungs. That the machine was needed demonstrates how seriously Ill the patient in need was.
