another small puzzle

asking advice twice in one day -tch.

I started a new game, since the previous one was very old, and now I find that External Camera is not working as it ought. If I am on the bridge and invoke it, I can go a little way out, slowly. I like to go and inspect passing boats, but can't do that now, and if I am at perscope depth, I cannot use external view at all. It was working when I first went into the game. Now it ain't. Any thoughts oh wise ones? And yes, it is enabled in options

Rats, restarted computer and SH4 and then opted for a quick patrol game and it CTD'd.. I wonder if I put the mods back on wrong order... I can see a re-install coming.....

well, changed mod order, went back on, tried for a war patrol - fine, go back to the campaign game, and the problem is still there, so will just delete that game and start afresh.Yay. Computers are fun, Fun, FUN!

Noooo, not getting at all now.. time for a reinstall me thinks.
