Where has all the enemy gone???

I've completed about 6 or so missions but can't complete the last one. I'm told to engage in enemy shipping in the South Chine Sea but there is no enemy on the map anymore. I'm not getting any reports of any contacts closing or moving away any longer, nor crossing paths with any enemy ships.
Is this a known bug issue for some odd reason?
It's July 17, 1942... there's a lot of war left but no enemy to hunt down.
No, I haven't sunk them all. Only about 28 of them.

Got any ideas, guys?

I'm running GFO.
