Engines sounds in GW

The sounds of diesel and electric engines are much more quiet than in stock SH3...is this more realistic? I would think that to a listener within a submarine the diesel engine would make quite a noise when surfaced. And also the electric engines would make some noise...for example opening of tubes makes quite a big noise...Correct me if I am mistaken. If the sounds are more realistic than before I take it
