No reward for sinkings after patrol

First off all, Hello! I've started on SH3 about a week ago, and I'm having a lot of fun with it.

Now, I seem to have run into a bit of a problem, I've just completed my first patrol, jet my log says I've not sunk anything yet, even though I've sunk 4 merchants on my first patrol. In the save games menu, when i acces the captain's log of the 'returned to port' save, it lists my four sinkings. Yet when I load the 'before patrol 2' save, my total tonnage and sinkings are at 0.
Also, the starting date of my first patrol is listed as 0,0,0, instead of the actual date, december 2nd. The captains log lists the date and sinking correctly, but the patrol log doesn't.

Any clue whats going on here?

I'm currently playing stock SH3, on 29% realism (yes I'm a newbie ). Assigned to the 29th in the Med.
