Alles klar, Männer?
After a long absence from these forums and Silent Hunter 3 in general I have made my return and want to start a new career in the 1st Flottilla with a good ol' "Einbaum", the IIa. The last days I have read hundreds of threads in this forum to come up with the best possible MOD-setup. Now I've come as far as the setup for my boat. Here starts the confusion as I'm not really sure how the .dat-files work. Let's say I want to use the (great) Waterstream and Exhaust mod together with a new skin for my IIa. Both mods contain the NSS_Uboat2A.dat. Would I lose any functionality of the Waterstream mod if I added a new skin via JSGME? Another question that I have is about the interior. I have found several mods changing the interior of a IIa (Torpedoroom, Interior Lighting, Postalbyte's interior mod etc.) all of these have the NSS_Uboat2_CR.dat in common. So which of these should I use? I'm sorry if these questions have been asked before, but I tried to search for an answer prior to adressing you here. I would be glad if some helpful Kaleun could point me to some FAQs concerning this or if someone could simply give me any advice on the best IIa-combination of mods. Thanks in advance! BTW: WTF has happened to SH3 since my last visit (2009)? This community is alive as ever and mods (including an unbelievable inofficial 1.6b of sh3.exe). This is ridiculous! ![]() ![]() ![]()
