I'm using the Dick O'Kane method for shooting - it's the only one I've learnt so far and it seems the least complicated to me.
I don't use the PK at all. Yesterday I was trying to take down a tanker, ran out of forward facing torpedoes, so I moved into position for an aft tube shot, however it went wrong and I missed completely, this is what I did - The target was coming from the right so I set the scope to 200 (if the target was coming from the right for a front tube attack I'd set the scope to 20). Range was already set, but I clicked on the send to TDC button twice anyway. I set the AOB to port 70 degrees, because I was on the targets port side and 70 is 90 minus the offset in the scope (20) and then I clicked the send to TDC button twice. Speed was already set, but again I clicked on the send to TDC button twice anyway. Then I fired when the target was passing 200 on my scope. The fish then went and did a u-turn and headed for a point in front of my sub. So what went wrong? |
