The swells had to be 8 feet at least, because at 72' of depth the scope was occasionally clear. Heavy fog, visibility less than 300 yards, any "up-scopes" so close drew fire. I launched 20 torpedoes and the only 2 that hit anything were the Cuties. I had 4 premature detonations and no clue what happened to the others, all launched on zero bearing at stationary silhouettes between 600 & 1200 yards. Embarrassing.
Does the game weather model Typhoons, or other "extreme" weather?

Yep, can be a pain.I posted not long ago about running into a convoy off Mariannas in summer 1943 while en route to Area Parlor, attacked in night surface action, ten torpedoes fired, i believe 9 were prematures, 1 missed due to gyro error put it of course as speed etc all was correct.I moved ahead, ready to try a dawn submerged attack.Just as I was about to dive the next morning, storm moved in.For two days I tracked them via radar waiting for storm to break, was almost 400 miles out of my area, decided to break off and head for area since already used 10 torpedoes and some fuel .Storm went on for coupe more days until I cleared it.
While the game does not simulate typhoons per say, the long storms are a decent representation. Several books i have ready by skippers mention getting caught in severe, long lasting storms while en route to patrol area, sometimes while en route from panama canal to pearl harbor etc.
I do wish typhoons were simulated, as well as damage from the storms and extra fatigue to the crew.
