Default DR and real Nav

Bothersome,

I am just messing around with the sextant now....interesting, but I will stick with the same method you are using. I watched Stoainm's real nav video which pushed me toward that method. And your right it is more accurate then the DR function.

Agree....sea currents and heavy seas and wind when you are on the surface affect the accuracy of DR. We were running out of Japan years back, on a fast attack, on the surface in heavy seas and wind heading out to our dive point. The helmsman had his hands full trying to stay on course. If we had been using DR it would have been no better than a guess. I doubt if SH 5 models these factors in.

Real navigation is not everyone's cup of tea, but I think a number of members here are using it.
