Black sea fleet exercise DW

just been playing DW RA getting back into the swing of things with a few exercises and im most likely to return to using the FFG or the udaloy as my main playing platform, been testing out a few skill's and also some units so here it goes:

0600 start of exercise the brief:
Escort surface group RFBLACKCOM5 comprising of 5 warships the lead ship and command ship for the entire exercise is the Azov DDG, she will be escorted by a krivack FFG, neustrashimy FFG, sovremenny DDG, and udaloy DDG the later 2 units are joining us from the northern fleet and will provide extencive AAW / ASUW and also ASW support.
One kilo class submarine alrosa will provide the Support and survailance role while protecting the RFBLACKCOM5.
There is no air support for this group.

NOTE: a russian A-50 AEW / AWAC will be overhead to monitor the exercise

Enemy units:
The enemy will have four surface units known as RFOPFOR4 comprising of trantul FFL,2 krivack FFG, and also a nanchuka IV this unit will also be supported by 5 TU142 Bear F's whos mission is to target and attack the group while also protecting themselves from attack they are positioned aproximatly 30nm to the south west of box BSEA54.
The RFOPFOR4 have also 2 submarines to provide support for the goup these include a kilo SSK and an elderly tango SSK they will hunt down the alrosa and attempt to sink her.

Objective:
As the commander of alrosa you need to be aware you are being targeted from the get go, submarines and ships are looking to hunt you and your group down, it is your job to clear a path ahead of the group.

Out come:

0715 first missile is fired from TU142 but fails to hit a target and is destroyed mid air
0717 a volley of missiles from all 5 TU142's have now been fired both the sovremenny and azov engauge shooting down 2 of the 5 attacking planes the remaining 3 retreat.

0740 first sign of some trouble, turkish warship possibly a meko class FFG has been detected in the area the AWACS indicate the vessel is at high speed and is heading for the area.

0810 alrosa suffers a weapons malfunction resulting in the SS-N-15 being unable to launch both missiles fail to fire and fall to the ocean floor without exploding.

0813 first sign we have been detected due to the malfunction, TIW to our south east.
0814 TIW confirms russian torpedo 45knots heading for us we launch a torpedo down the line of bearing drop CM's dive and head away.

0822 Russian sovremenny engauges a krivack with missiles this causes the fleet to u turn and spread out missile is evaded.

0825 turkish warship is now within limits she is 10 miles from the edge of the exercise area

0832 alrosa succesfully evades torpedo although her own torpedo fails to find the target and runs out of fuel.

0835 udaloy fires 3 SS-N-14 missiles to our now south position aproximatly 22 miles away.

0837 load explosion is heard through the sonar followed quickly by a second tango class submarine has been killed.

0842 turkish warship is now less than 5 miles from the area alrosa is ordered to intercept the vessel and the AWACS plane buzzes the warship the turkish ship continues into the area anyway.

0845 sovremenny and azov engauge the enemy fleet taking out the Krivack FFG and trantul FFL, again the others u turn and head away, our fleet turns to chase.

0900 kilo class submarine launches 3 ASM's and strikes home on the udaloy she is now sunk.

0912 kilo has been located however due to the distance unable to engauge just yet also have to deal with the turkish warship.

0926 sovremenny and azov launch another attack on the escaping ships sinking the other krivack, however it seems the krivack got a few lucky shots off first and hits the sovremenny with her gun.

0930 turkish warship enters the exercise area in an attempt to carv up the group alrosa surfaces infront of the vessel which forces her to take evasive avoidance action AWAC plane again buzzes the warship and she turns due south to leave the area.

0944 alrosa submerges and goes on the hunt for the missing kilo.

1056 kilo is located 5 miles due north of the azov will close the gap and engauge.

1058 TIW two torpedos have been fired from the kilo.

1102 loud explosion from the Azov she has been sunk by two torpedos from the kilo the remaining surface units exit the area at high speed i still close the gap

1117 within 8 miles of the kilo i fire 2 torpedos on her.

1120 torpedo hit and she has been sunk other torpedo is shut down.

1125 alrosa comes to the surface

1130 End of the mission

Debrief:

Result Failure:

Due to the recent events it has been noted that the RFBLACKCOM5 group is not combat ready, it has failed in the most basic manouvers and it also has failed in weapon employment.
the group should have remained together rather than spreading out and the attacking aircraft should have been engauged more readily, the fact that 5 elderly slow TU-142's came so close to the groupbefore being deteced and engauged is beyond belief.
The fact that 3 ocean going warships have been ruled sunk is again a mystery all three units are very capible ASUW / ASW and AAW platforms it is beyond my wildest belief that two submarines were able to be in a position to fire and sink such powerful destroyers.

Alrosa performed below standard and did not grasp the situation as it unfolded, the tropedo if classified properly would not have made it to the submarine, the captain of alrosa although following orders to surface did so negligently and put the submarine and crew in harms way by surfacing infront of a fast moving warship.

Although all enemy units were destroyed it is undoubtably a failure and one that must be addressed in a major exercise, a letter of grievance has been sent to the turkish embassy in moscow about the incident involving one of thier warships entering into the exercise area and coming too close to russian warships while undergoing combat training.

The Azov will not be present due to the ships decomissioning and will be replaced by a combattant from the northern fleet next time we are unable to confirm which unit this will be but we also need to send a message to turkey that such violations in exercise areas cannot be tolerated, alrosa is to return to base with the fleet for more working up exercises.


That was the mission it was designed to be lop sided and this mission was meant to be a failure to a point but i didnt think it would result in the loss of the major unit just need more practice me thinks.
