It's all bunk. Some people would love to pretend that they have to live in fear of saying Merry Christmas or that some jackbooted thugs will haul your kid off to a gulag if he wears a Christmas sweater to school. Its the victimhood complex in action. There's a subset of hardcore fundamentalist Christians who would love to force their opinions on everyone else and institute a form of theocracy in this country, but they cover it up by pretending they're the victims who are having someone else's beliefs imposed on them and that there's some made up "War on Christmas."

But then again, Jon Stewart did declare a war on Christmas: "But as long as our enemies view the words "Happy Holidays", not as a lazy man's way to avoid the time-sucking double-holiday salutation "I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year", but rather as a subtextual "{expletive} and your Baby Jesus", THERE CAN BE NO PEACE!!
